Barbara Crocker

Barbara Felser Crocker, a Washington based interior designer , received the John Carroll Award in ceremonies held at the Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, on March 8, 2008.

Crocker, a former real estate agent in South Florida, relocated to Washington to run an interior design firm. Active with numerous Georgetown projects, she is a former member of the AAP Board of Advisors, SLL Board of Advisors, College Board of Advisors, and the Board of Regents, She was a co-chair of the 2000 John Carroll Awards Weekend in Boca Raton.

Barbara and her husband Tom have endowed a scholarship at Georgetown and are active in StartupHoyas, a entrepreneurial group fostering mentorship between students and alumni.

N. Lynn Hiestand

Lynn Hiestand, a retired attorney, received the John Carroll Award in ceremonies held at the Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, on March 8, 2008.

A former editor of the Georgetown Law Journal during her years at the Law Center, Hiestand was a partner at the London offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she specialized in corporate restructuring. In 2010, Lynn and her husband relocated to northern Iraq as part of NGO Heartland Alliance International, where Lynn served as an in-country director through 2014.

" The biggest professional challenge has been adapting to working for a not-for-profit organization rather than a global law firm with all the resources of Skadden," she said in a 2014 article. "Nongovernmental organizations are far more bureaucratic and hierarchical than our firm, and national government entities even more so. The disparity in resources is also something I've had to adjust to - I now recycle paper, putting the clean side back in the printer. That's typically not done at law firms! "

Hiestand is a member of the Board of Visitors for the Law Center.

Dr. William L. Licamele, M.D.

William L. ("Bill") Licamele, the former director of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, received the John Carroll Award in ceremonies held at the Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, on March 8, 2008.

Raised in Trumbull, CT, Licamele earned his bachelor's and medical degrees from Georgetown, and served his residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Georgetown University Hospital before entering private practice in 1976 and beginning teaching work at the hospital. Dr. Licamele is a clinical professor of psychiatry and pediatrics, served as the director of the school's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and was the director of the Tourette Syndrome Clinic over a 40 year career at the University.

A devoted and popular alumni volunteer, Dr. Licamele has served on the board of the School of Medicine, the Medical Alumni Board, Hoyas Unlimited, and the Board of Governors of the Georgetown University Alumni Association. First elected in 2001 and reelected in 2004, he now serves as an Alumni Senator, focusing on campus engagement and the Legacy Society, which specializes in planned giving.

Philip A. Marineau

Philip A. ("Phil") Marineau, former CEO of Levi Strauss and Co., received the John Carroll Award in ceremonies held at the Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, on March 8, 2008.

A history major from Chicago, IL, Marineau earned an MBA from Northwestern before joining the Quaker Oats Company, based in Chicago. In a 23 year career at Quaker, he led the Gatorade product line to over $1 billion in sales and served as president and chief operating officer (COO) from 1993 to 1996. An executive in demand, he later served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Dean Foods Company, a daily conglomerate, followed by President and Chief Executive Officer of Pepsico's North America operations. At the time of the award, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Levi Strauss & Co., and now serves as a partner at LNK Partners, a new York-based private equity firm.

A former member of the University's Board of Regents and Board of Directors, Marineau has been a trusted advisor and leader during each of the two most recent capital campaigns.

Sheherazade Semsar-de Boisseson

Sheherazade Semsar-de Boisseson, managing director of Politico Europe, received the John Carroll Award in ceremonies held at the Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, on March 8, 2008.

Born in Tehran and raised in Paris, Sheherazade pursued a dual degree program through the School of Foreign Service, graduating in 1990. In 1993, she founded the Paris based firm Development Institute International (DII), and then acquired European Voice, an English language newspaper founded by The Economist. In 2014, Washington-based Politico acquired both European Voice and DII.

Sheherazade is a former member of the University's Board of Directors and the Board of Governors of the Georgetown University Alumni Association.
