The 2026 Awardees

Timothy J. Brosnan

Timothy J. Brosnan, retired president and CEO of MLB Enterprises, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2026.

The awards release on Mr. Brosnan noted the following: "Timothy Brosnan... majored in government and was a four year player on the Georgetown University baseball team, serving as captain in 1980. He earned his J.D. from Fordham Law School and went on to private practice before he was appointed by then-Governor Cuomo to the NYS Commission on Government Integrity where he served as counsel to Chairmen John Feerick and Cyrus Vance. Brosnan then began a nearly 25-year career at Major League Baseball, where he headed virtually every business line at MLB as President/CEO of MLB Enterprises.

During his career Brosnan remained close to Georgetown, serving as an AAP interviewer, a six-year member of the Board of Regents, a Wall Street Alliance honoree, and a long-time counsel to President DeGioia on all things related to athletics. In 2021, DeGioia tasked Brosnan to project Georgetown's role in the then-new world of NIL for NCAA athletes. That undertaking culminated in the formation of Hoyas Rising, a fully operational private company that Brosnan founded, built, and ran as Chairman/CEO through June 2025. Brosnan is Director Emeritus of the Alumni Board at Fordham Law and at Fordham Prep, where he is also a member of [its] Hall of Honor."


Frank A. Ciatto

Frank Ciatto, a Washington DC attorney and former president of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2026.

The awardw release on Mr. Ciatto noted the following: "Ciatto is co-chair of the corporate practice at Venable LLP where he has worked for 26 years. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, and he serves as outside general counsel to several privately held businesses in and around the DC metro area. The role of 'consigliere' has been Ciatto's life's work. His desire to give back to Georgetown began by serving in many roles for his beloved undergraduate Class of 1988.

Ciatto joined the Georgetown University Alumni Association's Board of Governors in 2003. As a governor, he took on the roles of chair of the awards and class advancement committees before serving as treasurer from 2014 to 2018, president-elect from 2018 to 2020, and then president from 2020 to 2022. Ciatto also served during his time as president as a member of the university's Board of Directors and then the Board of Regents.

Ciatto's leadership as president of the Georgetown University Alumni Association was marked by candid dialogue and a commitment to making the association more representative of all constituencies of the alumni community."


Michael G. Ryan

Washington DC

Michael G. Ryan, a Washington DC accountant and adjunct professor at the University, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2026.

The awards release on Mr. Ryan noted the following: "Mike Ryan ... has worked in the fields of finance and accounting since graduating from Georgetown University in 1974. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA degree from the Wharton School in 1977. From 1977 to 1985, Ryan worked as a certified public accountant in the Washington, DC, office of Arthur Andersen & Co. His clients included Radio Free Europe, Children's Hospital, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Ryan has also served as a director of a number of local non-profit organizations including the Seed Public Charter School and The National Theatre.

For the past 25 years, Ryan has been a member of the Georgetown faculty. He has taught a Personal Finance course to more than 2,500 students as an adjunct professor in the College of Arts & Sciences. In connection with Georgetown's Prison & Justice Initiative, Ryan has taught another 250 students in the DC Jail and in Georgetown's PIVOT Program for returning citizens."


Catherine Rusconi Sansbury

Catherine Rusconi Sansbury, an Austin, TX-based attorney and community volunteer, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2026.

The awards release on Ms. Sansbury noted the following: "Catherine...is a dedicated advocate and guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children, embodying the Jesuit ideal of being "men and women for others." For more than 15 years, she has devoted her time to advancing the mission of nonprofits that support underserved children and expand access to education.

Sansbury maintains a deep and enduring connection to Georgetown University. She has served three terms on the College Board of Advisors and two terms on the Board of Regents. Since 2009, she has been an active member of the Alumni Admissions Program (AAP) interviewing undergraduate applicants. In 2017, she co-chaired John Carroll Weekend in Austin. Together with her husband, Charles Sansbury (MSB'89), she has hosted events for university leaders and supported key initiatives including Mission & Ministry, the Lauinger Library Renovation, the Cawley Career Education Center, and the Georgetown Scholarship Program (GSP) establishing an undergraduate scholarship.

After earning her JD from the University of Connecticut in 1993, Sansbury began her legal career in New York as in-house counsel at The Chase Manhattan Bank Legal Department before becoming General Counsel for a financial services firm based in Austin, Texas."


Federico C. Stubbe Jr

Federico C. Stubbe Jr, a Dorado, PR property developer, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2025.

The awards release on Ms. Sansbury noted the following:" Federico ...is CEO of PRISA Group, a family-owned real estate, construction, and investment firm specializing in residential, hospitality, and entertainment developments in Puerto Rico and Florida. Under his leadership, PRISA has developed more than $1.5 billion in tourism and mixed-use projects, including Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and Distrito T-Mobile, a $250 million entertainment district in San Juan that has become one of the island's top destinations. The company continues to expand its reach through ventures in healthcare, gaming, and large-scale urban development.

His commitment to education and civic growth extends through service on MSB's Board of Advisors, the Steers Center for Real Estate Executive Committee, the TASIS Foundation, NY Fed Business Advisory Council, and the Puerto Rico Destination Marketing Organization. A proud Georgetown Chime, Stubbe has hosted the group in Puerto Rico for over a decade, served six years on the GUAA Board of Governors, and interviewed prospective students for 27 years. Each year, he welcomes Steers Center students to Puerto Rico for a real estate immersion trip and frequently hosts Georgetown faculty on the island. He actively supports the Georgetown Club of Puerto Rico and collaborates with students through the MSB Real Estate Case Competition, the Dean's "Fields of the Future" program, and the GU Private Equity Fund."


Michael F. Williams

Michael F. Williams, a Washington DC attorney and adjunct professor at Georgetown University, will receive the John Carroll Award at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, PR on April 18, 2025.

The awards release on Mr. Williams noted the following: "Mike Williams is a leading trial lawyer and partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. After graduating from Georgetown Law, summa cum laude and first in class, Williams clerked for the Honorable Douglas H. Ginsburg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy on the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to his work for corporate clients, he has been honored by the American Bar Association for his successful advocacy on behalf of death-row inmates, and he secured favorable judgments in favor of tens of thousands of individuals in civil rights cases. Williams successfully defended the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico during its financial crisis in 2017.

He and his wife Julin are dedicated supporters of first-generation college students. Drawing upon their roots in Asbury Park, New Jersey and the Village of Lauli'i in American Samoa, they have been committed mentors, advocates, and friends to hundreds of Georgetown students. Their Italian-American Sunday family dinners are legendary on the Hilltop.

Williams chairs the board of the Georgetown Scholars Program and is immediate past chair of Georgetown Law's Board of Visitors. He is co-chair of the Hoya Hoop Club's Communications Committee and a former member of the Board of Regents. He has served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Georgetown Law since 2013 and has also taught a Week One class about Asking Questions in Litigation since 2016."
